Penny-Pinched Professional #1: The Classic Cheapskate

Don't freak out - it's not Sunday.  I'm just trying something new here, and in more ways than just posting in the middle of the week.  I wasn't kidding when I said I wanted to try fashion blogging and here is proof: post one from a penny-pinched professional.  I'm not exactly sure how this will go yet but I'm thinking smaller posts throughout the week in addition (hopefully) to my usual, longer weekend post.  So here it goes:

The Classic Cheapskate

I posted before showing a few of my workweek outfits, one of which I decided was cheap and classy enough to deserve a name.

This is one of my favorite outfits because it's simple so you can dress it up or down with different accessories.  It's also classic; I feel like it's the type of outfit that has people thinking, "That girl's really got it together.  She probably pays for her music downloads and buys name brand toilet paper."  (A mark of having really made it in the world, according to Andrea.)

And best of all, the outfit is cheap.

You can check out all the pieces here on my Polyvore site, where you will see that I really am a cheapskate: everything is under $30.  I don't think that this necklace is the exact one that I have on in the picture, but you can't really go wrong with something from Francesca's (although it can get a little pricey for a cheapskate).  Generally worth the splurge though; a bold necklace pretty much makes an outfit.

So I think that is enough for my first post.  I don't have time (well, the energy actually) for long mid-week posts, but I do like the idea of a few shorter blurbs sprinkled in to keep you on your toes.  I'm not sure how often I will post yet, but based on how much fun I had on at the Polyvore site, it may be a lot.

With that said, happy Tuesday my fellow cheapskates.  Stay classy!
