what we do when The Voice isn't on

I don't watch a lot of TV but when I do, it's always either football, The Voice, or the Big Bang Theory.  If I ran the world, there would be three channels: one that continuously played new episodes of The Voice (only with Beyonce instead of Christina), one with nonstop BBT, and one with the Ravens squishing the Steelers and Patriots simultaneously (with Terrell Suggs' interviews during time-outs).

Okay, so that got pretty specific kind of quickly.

Point is, I don't run the world so those channels don't exist.  Which leaves me some free time to come up with my own entertainment (hence the blog).  Sometimes, though, I force Derrick to entertain me... which is how we came up with:

Don't worry, Mom, it's G-rated.

Make up 5-10 questions about your favorite (or least favorite) things.  It can really be whatever you want: What's your favorite restaurant?  What's your biggest pet peeve?  Who in your family annoys you the most? (Just kidding.)  How do you like your steak?  etc. etc.

Once you've come up with enough questions, both of you make two different lists: one listing your answers to the questions and one of what you think the other one's answers will be (about himself or herself).

Obviously you don't let each other see your answers... unless you like doing pointless and boring exercises (in which case, I'd suggest you forget about this game and practice your multiplication tables instead).

... Ok, so I just made that up so it seemed like a real game.  There really aren't any rules besides maybe no hitting.

1. What are the 5 words that describe you best?
2. What is your biggest fear?
3. What is your favorite candy?
4. What was the best Halloween costume you've ever worn?
5. Who is your favorite football team?

My answer: goofy, independent, stubborn, hard-working, funny
Derrick's answer will be: funny, athletic, good-cook (that's a compound word now), loyal, hot

Derrick said...
My answer: athletic, sarcastic, calm, happy, sweet
Nicole's answer will be: runner, creative, smart, smokin' hot, funny

Winner: We both got one word right, so it's tied.

Get it?  Okay, good.  Moving on...

My answer: brain eating amoeba
Derrick's answer will be: someone he loves getting hurt

Derrick said...
My answer: drowning
Nicole's answer will be: either missing a run or failure

Winner: Neither, although missing a run does send chills up my spine.

My answer: dark chocolate
Derrick's answer will be: chocolate covered peanuts

Derrick said...
My answer: Reese's minis
Nicole's answer will be: dark chocolate

Winner: Derrick.  He says that he only eats Goobers more because they're cheaper.  I had no idea that economics played such a significant role in his candy consumption.

My answer: Superwoman

Derrick's answer will be: the guy from Juno

Derrick said...
My answer: Paulie Bleeker

Nicole's answer will be: a pirate, Superwoman, or a Greek goddess

Winner: Me.  Derrick felt jipped after reading this post but I reminded him of one of the unspoken rules that don't exist: listing every possible answer is not an acceptable strategy.

I said...
My answer: Ravens
Derrick's answer will be: Ohio State

Derrick said...
My answer: Ohio State
Nicole's answer will be: the Ravens

Winner:  Again, a tie... but this one was a no-brainer.  Our football teams rank somewhere between a balanced diet and water on our list of basic needs.

No one.

Sorry, that was sort of anti-climatic, but we didn't include an overtime option in the list of rules.  We also didn't include rules in that list either though, so I guess that's not too surprising.

I don't want you to have made it all the way through this post for nothing, though.  So here:

Happy Hump Day!  Here's hoping that you're able to hold it together better than us the next time you're at Cracker Barrel.

Mal SmilesAlso, all of the questions were brought to you by Mallory and Stephanie so I'm linking up with them and their men on Thursday.  WEEEEEEE!
