Blog Reader Appreciation Series: Part 4

This is the fourth of these posts so I guess you could say that this is "a thing" now.

Let's admit it: most of you are probably here because you're putting off doing something else.  It's not a pretty picture but it's true; I'm sure a lot of people are only here as a last resort effort to postpone washing last week's (err... night's) dishes or writing that paper.

And I'm completely cool with that.  Like Thomas Jefferson once said, "Never put off till tomorrow reading that blog you could be reading today."  Or something along those lines.

Whatever.

Semantics aside, grab a cup of tea because no matter what you're putting off by being here, I've got something for you.

And let's be honest, this is everyone... you should always be dancing.  And don't even try the "my office is not the place for dancing" excuse.  If this lady is dancing, you should be too:

Don't worry about it!  There's no way you're more awkward than these people:

Should you be reassessing yourself and finding a career that fits your personality?  Of course you should. And the first step is figuring out which Harry Potter character you are.

In that case, I'll just tell you about my weekend.

There's just something about fall that makes me want to rent obnoxiously gaudy public bikes and head downtown to Target.  So that's just what we did.

After Derrick got off work on Saturday, we rented some Divy bikes and headed down to the Loop.  The trip started just as you would think it would, Derrick following me around cautiously as I zoomed in and around trees while begging him to take "one more action shot."

It was all fun and games on the Lakefront Trail but once we were confronted with city traffic, I had to buckle down and concentrate.  If you can imagine a cross between Lance Armstrong and the Wicked Witch of the West, that was me bracing the winds, dodging the buses, feeling all around badass.

And Derrick continued to cautiously follow the unnecessary spectacle, as is the norm.

The important thing is that we got there in plenty of time for me to spend 45 minutes deciding on a coat to buy from H&M, walk over to Target so that I could buy another one, and go back to H&M to return the first before dinner.  Derrick truly is a gem and an example of divinely inspired patience, because only God could create someone able to put up with that.

The weekend went otherwise as expected with Sunday brunch and football.  This weekend, we classed it up and headed to Dunlays on Clark.  Besides giving Derrick an excellent excuse to test out the "suave, scarf-wearing city man" look, I also made a new friend: the baby "beer back" that accompanies Dunlays' award winning Bloody Mary's.

All in all, it was a weekend marked by bright blue rental bikes, downtown city lights, and baby Miller High Life's.  What else can a girl want?

Happy Monday!
Ok, screw the happy part - just Monday.

Still don't feel appreciated?  I've got something here for you, too:
