Blog Reader Appreciation Series Part 13

Have you ever wondered what happens to two feet of snow once the temperature rises above freezing? Ever thought about where it all goes?

Well I'll tell you... It goes nowhere.  It actually just sits around town in deceptively deep puddles. And no, it doesn't have the courtesy to do it out of the way like a respectable puddle.  No, it sits in the middle of sidewalks and running trails.  Just sits there in six inches of pure evil, waiting for women and men trying to catch the bus in their work pants or just trying to get a long run in without 25 stops along the way.

But enough about the weather.  I'm sure you've heard about it more than you would have liked already, anyway.

But the thing about all of this rain and cold and snow is that it's given me the bug.  The travel bug, that is.  I thought it was something I'd get over as soon as my toes thawed out but it's been lingering around and I've found myself, more often than I'd like to admit, checking out airfare to Spain or Iceland.  The Groupon Destination page is now my browser's homepage and I just can't stop.

I need to get out of here, even just for a little while.

The thing is, I don't think I'm the only one who feels like there's something I need to do.  So this one, this is for all of you: the ones feeling like there's something you just need to be doing more of.

So no matter what you feel like you should really start doing, grab yourself a cup of tea and sit back... because I've got something here for you.

That's how Derrick and I felt this weekend, which is why we decided to do a bit of apartment hunting.  That or because my lease is ending in March.  It was definitely one of those reasons, I'm sure.

Right now, we're both living in the studio that I thought was a bit cramped for even one person.  So needless to say, we're looking for something a little bigger.  Other than that, we're not too picky.  Personally, just having a bedroom door to slam when I'm angry will be more than enough.

The thing about Chicago is that, despite its horrid winter weather, you can't deny that it's such a beautiful city. We're not looking to move far from where we are now because where we live is just so "calendar picture" worthy.  Seriously, how good would these pictures look above the month of January?

We haven't decided on a place yet but we did find one that I have a good feeling about.  It's close to public transportation and is on a quiet street.

But the best part by far about this place is that it is literally a block away from our favorite brunch sports bar. Because in the end, that's all that really matters... right?

Really, nothing says home sweet home like bacon, hash browns, Bloody Marys, and football.

Only a couple of days until we're a couple of days from the weekend.
