Blog Reader Appreciation Part 26:
Bangers and Lace (The Worst Brunch Ever)

You may not know this, but I ran in the Boston Marathon last week.  This news might come as a shock to you, although my more perceptive readers probably picked up on the 72,000 times I mentioned it.

I guess there's something to be said about beating a dead horse though.  Some people may call it meaningless, stupid, a complete waste of time, energy, and resources.  But personally, I look at it as a positive; you still get to beat a horse if that's your thing, and you can do it without PETA following you around with picket signs.  Truly a win-win, I'd say.

So this week, I'm going to dedicate this one to all of the people out there beating their own hypothetical dead horses. You might not be getting anywhere but at least no one is trying to stop you.

Blog Reader Appreciation Part 25:
Endgrain (again)

You know that I have always been one for trying new things.

Like, moving across the country.  Starting a new career.  Eating the pink Starbursts BEFORE the orange ones. (Although that last one didn't work out too well.)

The point is, I'm not afraid to try something new... but sometimes, the old tried and true works just fine too.  I don't have any new fabulous brunch spot to share with you today because, well, I already shared this one a few weeks ago.

But not surprisingly, it was just as good the second time around.

So this one is for all of you out there, the ones who could be doing something different but just aren't.  Because when you got a good thing going, why mix it up?

April Sponsor Spotlight

For some reason, it seems like all of the amazing bloggers flock to my sidebar.  I don't know why; I'm guessing it's because I have a cute dog.

Today, I'd like to introduce you all to Bri who writes over at Deliciously Active.  Bri talks a lot about being fit while raising a family, but also just adds enough personality that makes you want to go on a long run with her.

Blog Reader Appreciation Series Part 24:
Kingsbury Street Cafe (and a link-up)

I mentioned this on Friday, but I was such a fool when I was young.  Rioting against mandatory naps, enraged at the idea of someone making me go to bed at 9, offended that my parents had the audacity to force homemade family dinners on my important teenage schedule... I was a menace.  A menace and a fool.

But besides just regretting my truly baffling opposition to all things wonderful in the world, I also wonder if I'm going to look back in 10 years and think the same things about my 23-year-old self.  Will I look back on these posts and say to myself, "And you complained about using duct tape to fix a hole in your bathroom wall?!  You didn't know how great you had it."

Maybe I will and maybe I won't, but just like with pre-elementary school me who protested mandatory nap time, I probably won't know until it's too late.  But I guess that's life; you don't always know a good thing when you see it.

So this one is for all of you out there who have ever let a good thing go.  You had no idea nap time was a blessing until after your first 2PM office meeting.
