I'm back in town, but got a new address.

I  made it.  Specifically, I made it from Chicago to Baltimore to Boston to Portugal back through it all, landing in DC.

But now that I'm back, I realize that I don't want to live here anymore.  This place is old with too many outdated photos.  It needs new paint and it's just too big for me right now.

If you're not into metaphors, I understand; they're sort of annoying anyway.  All I mean is that this blog isn't what I want anymore.

At first I thought I didn't want this blog because I just didn't have the time for wit and Pinterest-level graphics.  For the past three weeks, I've been living with my parents while I find a place of my own.  They live in Baltimore; I work in DC (a two hour, car/train/metro combination commute away).  Commuting was my part time job, so I didn't have time to take care of a baby blog.

Now that I'm in my own place (20 minutes from work), that excuse doesn't fly.  But the house is still too much work for someone who wants to be outside enjoying the beautiful Arlington, VA, summer, not inside doing housework.

For you non-metaphor folks, I want to be out making the best of this new life I've found myself in, not spending hour(s) a day blogging.

But I do miss my neighbors, so I'm not giving it up entirely.  I'm just moving:

Same Nicole, different blog.  With this new blog, the goal is conciseness: one picture a day, that's it.  For the sake of bloggery, it'll probably come with a story or at least a caption... but depending on the day, that caption may be however much I can fit in over my morning tea.

So go over there and follow me.  Love me.  Bring me homemade pies and casseroles.  And puppies.  You know, all that new neighbor biz.

See you there!
